My family loves our local zoo. The Palm Beach Zoo offers so many amazing activities for children. A few of our favorites are homeschool programs, holiday events, story times and Safari Nights.
Safair Nights are every Friday evening during the summer months. Each night the zoo feature’s a different family-friendly theme and includes entertainment for guests of all ages! The Dinosaur/Jurassic Park theme was a hit with my boys.
The zoo comes alive in a different way at Safari Nights with music and many activities for children. Zoo keepers have animals out for kids to get up close with, some to touch, photo ops as well as asking questions.
Children will never get bored with all the entertainment that is offered such as face painting, air rush tattoos, costume contests, sand art, character meet ‘n’ greets, bounce house and/or other live kid’s entertainment! My son and daughter played a friendly game of giant checkers while my little guy played ring toss and when that was over my daughter, who loves crafts did a sand art butterfly.
The zoo has thought of everything they have a nice big interactive water fountain for kids to play in. For the little ones who do not like the fountains The Palm Beach Zoo sets out several water tables for them to play in.
Plus the zoo is open to explore all of it’s animals. I found that going in the evening is nice because it is not so hot out and the animals are out more from their shaded hiding places. We had the opportunity to get to see them a bit more in the evening than during daytime hours.
There is only one more Safari Night left this year and the theme is Back to School Carnival! If you cannot make the last one no need to worry because The Palm Beach Zoo offers many great events through out the year so be sure to check them out!

That looks like so much fun! I’m a passholder at Zoo Miami and take my son there often, especially for the splash pad now that we’re in summer. I can’t wait until he’s older so we could do some of these nighttime events.
I have been to the Miami Metro Zoo several times, it is a great zoo but it is so big it is hard to see everything in a day and I am exhausted by the time we leave, The Palm Beach Zoo is smaller and we are able to see everything in a day. Plus they have wonderful events all year long! You should try, their membership prices are a steal and so worth the price!
Oh wow this sounds so much fun, I think even I would enjoy it. x
You guys had a blast! I have only been in a night safari once and that was in Singapore. I hope we can visit the Palm Beach zoo. There is so much to do there and my kids would definitely love to do all those.
Oh wow how cool of this zoo to host safari nights and allow kids to interact with the animals and offer so much entertainment. I as an adult definitely wouldn’t mind playing here.
How nice that the Palm Beach Zoo has Safari Night. It sounds like a lot of fun and your kids faces show their enjoyment.
That looks like so much fun! I love the zoo!
That looks like so much fun! I wish our zoo had things like that. The special evening things our zoo offers is concerts, but they are from pretty big bands, so the tickets are expensive and sell out way in advance. Plus the shows are more geared towards adult tastes. I can only imagine how much nicer it would be to go at night time and beat the heat! Did you get to see any nocturnal animals out and about?
Yes we did the Fennec Fox! Normally they are hiding during the day so my kids were thrilled to get to see Swipper out (that is his name).
Bella would have so much fun seeing swipper and having a blast at the zoo and beach. We didn’t get to go to the beach or the zoo this summer. We pretty much stayed close to home and had an uneventful summer. After the last two summers we have had we really lucked out and it was much needed relaxing summer. Now we are gearing up for back to school.
What a fun experience! I love that foxin the last picture. I haven’t seen one like that before. It looks like your kiddos had a blast. Can’t wait til it’s cool enough to go to our zoo.
We are actually close enough now to attend this (we just moved). I think I’ll ask my son and his wife if they’d like to go too.
I’ve never been to the Palm Beach zoo but our zoo here is close enough to go and the kids dearly love it. Might need to add yours to our bucket list.
We love the Zoo. I miss going all the time we have been so busy.
Looks like an awesome time! And that checker board looks like a ton of fun!
What a fun idea to do crafts and so many different activities all around a theme. The back to school one sounds like it will be a blast.
How i really wish that our Zoo is as good as this. Love to visit this kind of Zoo personally.
It looks like a fun and educational experience for kids. This is an experience kids would love.
What a fun evening! My kids are crazy about animals and unfortunately we don’t have anything like this close to us. I’m so glad you had so much fun!
Kids are looks had fun experienced. I’ve never been there, it looks like a new destination and it’s really perfect for summer.
We’re actually taking my daughter for her first trip to the zoo tomorrow. These pictures make me even more excited! I can’t wait!
We haven’t been to the zoo in ages, but it’s always fun. I love that so many zoos have added water play for the kids, too. It looks like your cuties had a lot of fun!
Dinosaurs and giant checkers? This looks like my kind of night! Seriously, this seems like a great family event for all ages.
I am a huge fan of special events held at a zoo that are outside of their normal hours of operation. This looks like a lot of fun for all ages. The Fennec Fox is soooo cute!
That looks like a blast! I would have loved to pet the snake and so would have my kiddos. We are big animal fans over here 🙂
This looks like fun! Inspired me to visit London Zoo on one of their Zoo Lates nights!
what a great time you had. We love hanging out at the zoo.
Safari Nights looks like an absolute amazing time! I love that they have so many engaging activities!
I love zoos which have more things for the children to do – my boys would love this place! I love that little Fox, too cute!
We have gone to the zoo three times this summer and I find there is always something new to see and do when we are there. Looks like you guys had a great time as well. 🙂
It looks like a fantastic time indeed for everyone. I would love to bring my niece’s kids on Safari Night. The checker game looks amazing for sure. Thanks for sharing.
What great pics, I love the one of the fox. I am sending this to my brother who lives nearby and can use to help plan for his trip to the zoo!
I have never been to an after hours party at the museums but I know they do a great job.
This one looks like it really has a lot of stuff for kids to do, too. It offers way more than just animals – which are awesome all by themselves. 🙂
A zoo is awesome to visit. This one sounds great and Safari Nights is cool.
The kids must have had so much fun. I love when there are plenty of activities for the younger kids.
We love going to the Zoo! It sounds like you’ve had sooo much fun! We don’t have night options though…my son would love that!
This looks like it is an awesome zoo to go to. I can imagine everyone had a lot of fun there.
The last time I was at a Zoo I was 17 .. thats over 10 years ago. I would definitely like to go and experience this again really soon. It looked like a fun activity for the entire family
I bet my boys would have a blast at a Safari night! Seeing animals up close is always fun. My youngest has yet to visit a zoo (that he can remember), so we’ll have to go sometime this next year.
That’s one thing we didn’t get a chance to do this year is go to the zoo. I’m hoping to squeeze in the Halloween event they have every year!
Your zoo has a lot more activities for kids and parents to do even on an evening event. How cool about the splash pad
This looks really fun! A safari night is a great idea for the kids! We have one at our local zoo in October.
What FUN! Lowry Park Zoo here in Tampa has some awesome events too! Headed to the Halloween one this year for sure.
MY daughter will surely love a Safari Night and she would be thrilled to see the animals in a safari.
