Origami Diamond Kids Paper Craft (Learn & Link With Linky)

My kids are in a Geography club.  In this club the kids are learning about all the states in the United States. Each week along with the lesson they add information in their “passports”, learn the facts about each state and do a craft. This week they learned about Arkansas. Since Arkansas has the only state park in the US open to the public for diamond mining. It was fitting to do a diamond craft.  They did a paper origami diamond craft!

Here are the steps in how to make this fun paper craft. It’s super easy, my 6 year old son was able to make it!

After making their “diamonds” they also put together boxes and decorated them to store their “diamond” in!  They enjoy learning about our country but the hands on part of the learning they really enjoy the most!

I wish we lived closer to this diamond mining park – my kids are asking to go – road trip someday, maybe! Sounds like a fun place to go!

I have tried to do origami crafts about a year ago and they showed no interest in it but now they like it so I am sure we will be doing more origami (stay tuned to see what we come up with). What origami crafts have your kids made?
