When Accidents Happen

Unfortunately accidents happen.  Sometimes they can be avoided while other times they cannot be avoided.  I remember when I was in my early 20’s I had a friend that was in a horrible motorcycle accident.  He was waiting for the red light to change when our of nowhere an elderly woman ran right into him. Accident right? Yes if can happen but the problem was that she never stopped to see if he was okay as he laid in the middle of the street!   He was pretty banged up and there was quite a bit of damage done to his motorcycle.  There were plenty of witnesses who saw what happened.  Luckily they jotted down her license tag number which lead the police to her. Repairs needed to be done to his motorcycle and he had many medical bills racked up so he had to hire a lawyer who ultimately took the case to  court. If he did not hire a lawyer his motorcycle would have not been repaired and his medical bills would have continued to pile up.  Thankfully the lawyer was able to win the case and the women’s insurance company paid him a decent amount to pay for his bills and to cover his pain and injury.

After the accident my friend had to find a reputable law firm which an be a daunting task, especially since your case can be harmed the longer you wait. 1. I wish I had done that when I had my accident in high school. I was just a scared kid and didn’t know better. Got totally railroaded!

  2. Oh gosh, that is horrible for your friend. I have been blessed and not had anything like this happen to me. But I totally agree, finding the best law firm is key to the success in your case!

  3. Thankfully I have never needed to find my own lawyer. The only accident I was in my auto insurance found the lawyer and went to bat for me. I hope your friend came out okay in the end of all that.

  4. Luckily I have not been in a personal injury YET. It is unfortunate but, like you said, accidents DO happen. And it is important to know your options!

  5. I’ve never had to sue someone, but if something happened to me, like what happened to your friend, I’d definitely lawyer up.
