I am so excited, we have about one and half weeks left of our homeschool curriculum left and then we are done for this homeschool year (Our new year starts August 14th). In between trying to finish our school the kids have been to camps and VBS (Vacation Bible Study).
Typically I do not save all the kids crafts, with 6 kids I do not have the room so I keep my favorites. Four of my kids made the cutest lighthouse crafts during VBS. A few of them doodled on the outside of them so those I wound up tossing but kept my oldest son’s and have it displayed in our kitchen area.
Materials:
1 Condiment Cup With Top (2 Condiment Tops)
1 Piece of Red Card Stock
Optional: Bible Verse 1 Corinthians 16:13
First place the condiment top onto the condiment storage part of the container and glue it upside down on the bottom of the cup (not the part you drink out of, the opposite side). Next take the other condiment top and glue it to the bottom of the condiment storage container. Now it’s time to make the very top of the lighthouse. Take the card stock and cut a circle (diameter of 2 1/2″) and then form a cone shape, glue the sides together and allow to dry. Once dried glue to the top of the other condiment top. My son added a window to the top of his which they printed off but you can free hand windows using a Sharpie marker.
Since this was a craft done during VBS at our church 1 Corinthians 16:13 Bible verse was added which could optional. You can simply print it off on your computer or write it with your Sharpie marker.
Finally add the battery powered tea light candle underneath which surprisingly lights the lighthouse up nicely! What a fun craft to do with your kids this summer! What themed crafts are you doing with your kids during break?

That is a super cute craft! I love doing crafts like this that are easy and get the kids in a creative space.
That is really cute! I love the idea for using styrofoam because light does permeate it so well. I love this!
This would be a perfect gift for someone in my family that LOVES lighthouses! My son would love to make it for them for Christmas!
How absolutely ADORABLE is this craft!!! I love the additional of the Bible Verse!!!
This is so clever! The tea light gives the Styrofoam a really nice glow and the condiment cup really lights up!
This lighthouse craft is so awesome! I’ve been tinkering with the idea of making something that would resemble a lighthouse, but I always get stumped. This looks fun and easy to do, plus I wouldn’t be out a lot of money!
That is just the cutest craft ever. It’s perfect for us here in New England with all the lighthouses we have around here.
This Lighthouse looks so cute. This will be a fun crafts to do with the kids on the weekend. We are planning to travel to Nova Scotia this summer and this craft will be a great way to teach them about the lighthouse is there.
that’s such a cute idea. i wouldn’t have ever thought of that. i think my kids would love to make this.
I’m in LOVE with these! The verse is perfect for this craft. It would be great for a Sunday school lesson!
This is a great craft! I’m going to save this one for a rainy day near the end of the summer! Thanks for sharing.
This is a really cute craft. I’ll have to pass this along to our church.
I love it! It’s so easy to make and the kids will definitely enjoy their creations afterwards. You can add more windows if you want to have more lighting too! Thanks for this lovely idea!
