Pregnancy Countdown – 5 Things To Do The Last Month Of Pregnancy.

Only 3 1/2 weeks left till baby 6 makes his debut! I am in a mad dash to get my list of tasks done before then without going into labor and exhausting myself. Since my parents will be staying with my kids at our home my list is quite long! Right now it is all about necessity! What can wait and what cannot.

Wash all the baby clothes. I like everything to be nice and clean for baby when he wears his clothes for the first time. This includes new clothes and hand me down clothes that my other boys wore, even though they were already washed before storing them I still re-wash them.

Pack hospital bags for myself and my husband. Keeping both bags by the front door or in the car.

Have the necessities available such as diapers, baby wipes, burp clothes, lanolin, nursing bra’s (if you are breastfeeding) and infant carrier. If you are using formula it is a great time to stock up, you can even get coupon checks in the mail from Similac and Enfamil.

Set up bassinet, baby swing and bouncy seat. These items are one of the last things I will set up with month because my two year old will get into it all if I set it up too early but I do like it all set up so when I bring baby home from hospital everything is ready for him to use.

Spring Clean – Trust me it feels good to get rid of things you no longer need. I have been donating of toys, books and other items that we no longer need making room for our new little one. Organizing and cleaning all while having my other kids to help out!

What preparations do you make the last month of your pregnancy?

Hahaha, I had all that done long before the last month. It was more like 7 months for me 🙂

    • I wish I was more organized and did what you did, I feel like a chicken running around with my head cut off!

  2. Aww! I had forgotten that you had almost the same due date as my sister. She was due in early May but gave birth early. Her son is doing great. I wish you the best with the next 3.5 weeks!

  3. Since i was only blessed to be pregnant one I was so excited as we tried for 8 years that I did all this ahead of time. I bet the little ones are getting really excited by now. Such an exciting time.

  4. That’s great! You must be so excited and ready to see your new bundle of joy! Can’t wait to see the pictures!

  5. Well, I’m in the second trimester of my first pregnancy, so I’m really not sure! And I’ve got TWINS on the way! I DO know that I want the nursery as finished as possible – and a big part of that is making sure all the clothes are clean! The major thing I’m working on right now is decluttering and making room for baby stuff…and instituting processes around the house, so everything runs smoothly (hopefully) once the babies come!

  6. I always rewashed everything, too. It looks like you’re almost ready. I hope you have a healthy, stress-free last few weeks!

  7. It’s definitely a good idea to stock up on what you know you’ll need. You could always prepare some meals and freeze them so you won’t have to worry about cooking after you get home from the hospital.

  8. You are very organized! I think I was a last minute mom to be!

  9. These are great ideas! When I was pregnant for the first time, I had no idea what to do during that last month!

  10. Ann Bacciaglia says:

I remember being crazy about getting organized just before my kids were born. I can not wait to see pictures of your little guy when he is born.

  11. I had all of these things done months before my daughter was born. I always assumed that was the norm and now o know so many others having kids and they don’t do any of these things! Craziness!

  12. Oh you better believe I was a cleaning fool. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more!

  13. I remember those days well! I had my last one at home. The minute my water broke I was running around the house slinging pine sol on everything so that the house would smell clean!

  14. These are all great things to do when counting down pregnancy in the last month. That last month seems to also go by so slow!

  15. Oh yea – you’ll be in a nesting faze anyway and cleaning like crazy. LOL! These are great tips for mommas-to-be!

  16. So many people forget about the car carrier. And most hospitals won’t let you leave without it installed!

  17. Congrats on being so close to holding baby number 6! I’m Mom of a half a dozen too! Washing the baby clothes is my very favorite thing. Nothing makes it feel more real than that!
