Remember the old time Charlie Brown (Peanuts) cartoons? As a child I would get so excited when they would come on t.v. for the different holidays. Now you can watch Peanuts everyday with the new Peanuts Movie! To celebrate the release of the new The Peanuts Movie we had a little celebration which included watching the movie, eating Charlie Brown popcorn, playing with Peanuts Movie toys and more!
In The Peanuts Movie, good ol’ Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved Peanuts gang appear as you’ve never seen them before in a brand-new feature film from the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of Ice Age. Join everyone’s favorite eternal optimist, Charlie Brown, as he embarks on a heroic quest, while his beagle pal Snoopy takes to the skies to pursue his arch nemesis, the Red Baron. It’s a hilarious and heart-warming adventure!
First the kids dressed up for the big celebration in their Charlie Brown shirts and their Red Baron hats!
Then it was time to play with Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Charlie Brown and Woodstock movie toys.
Last but not least it was time to make a special snack to munch on while watching the movie.
Charlie Brown Popcorn
Ingredients
2 bags of cooked microwavable popcorn
1 cup of yellow candy (I used the kids leftover Easter candy: jelly beans, Starbursts and M & M’s.
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
First cook the popcorn, allow it to cool (trust me you want to do this or else you will have a messy gooey chocolate mess) and then mix in the yellow candy and the chocolate chips. Pass out in individual containers for the kids to enjoy! I made my own popcorn boxes using already made cardboard popcorn containers that I traced on yellow construction paper, cut out and glued to the outside of the container. For the zig-zag design I used card stock and by freehand cut it out and glued over the yellow. Making a Charlie Brown shirt design that he is well known for.
The Peanuts Movie is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD. How about making a Peanuts Movie night of your own? If so what fun ways what you incorporate into your family night?

We saw this in the theater. It was super cute and we all loved it.
WE love to celebrate DVD releases in our house. With my youngest son, it’s hard sometimes to see movies in the theatre, so we make a big deal when movies release on DVD! Thanks for the ideas here.

We missed this movie when it came to Theaters so we are going to have to purchase it on Itunes.

Charlie Brown is one little guy that I think everyone grew up with. It’s great that he’s back in the lime light again. Your party looks great! Especially the popcorn. Very clever!!

That looks like an awesome party! I love getting together like this have throwing these kinds of parties for kids. They always have so much fun. My daughters and I saw this movie in theaters. We loved it!
