What if I were to tell you that you could have plant based products that taste like meat? Yep! Beyond Meat offers 100% plant protein products! My family enjoys a good steak and/or hamburger at times but let’s face it meat is not always the best option. I received five Beyond Meat products (Beyond Beef Crumbles Beefy, Feisty, Italian Meatballs, Beyond Chicken Southwest Style Tenders and Chicken Strips) to challenge my family to a taste test!
Beyond Meat knows how much people enjoy meat so they decided to make it better. Studying meat’s core building blocks (amino acids, fats, trace minerals and carbs) they found them in natural plant-based sources and assembled them to capture the taste, texture, and nutrition of meat! Not only that but the products are GMO, hormone and antibiotic free.
My family is used to eating more meat products verses plant based products. I was amazed how the products actually looked like real meat so I decided not to tell my family to see if they noticed the difference. I used these products by incorporating them into Italian recipes.
My family had no clue that the products I was using were all plant based! The three dishes I made were:
Spaghetti Squash Pasta With Beyond Meat Italian Meatballs
Slice a Spaghetti Squash in half and take out all the seeds and bake for one hour at 450 degrees. Allow to cool and with a fork scrap out the insides. This will look like spaghetti noodles. Add the cooked Beyond Meat Italian Meatballs and top with pasta sauce.
Beyond Meat Italian Meatball Mini Subs
Cook the Beyond Meat Italian Meatballs. Then add them to a hoagie roll. Next drizzle marinara sauce over the meatballs. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake in the oven for 5 minutes. If you like your bun crispy broil for a 2 minutes.
Pasta With Beyond Meat Italian Meatballs
Cook Beyond Meat Italian Meatballs. Then cook the pasta and marinara sauce.
All 3 dishes were served at one dinning meal. I felt so sneaky as I sat at the table waiting to see my families reaction. Some of my kids asked for seconds! They liked it and they had no clue what I did until I told them!
I even took it one step further and served my littler children the Chicken Southwest Style Tenders. They are such fussy eaters, one of their favorite foods is chicken nuggets so I was not sure how they would react to the change but all 3 of them did not complain, instead asked for second helpings!

I definitely do not get enough protein in my diet, so this sounds awesome.
This is right up my alley. I was a vegetarian for 6+ years before I had kids. My husband is a huge carnivore so that kind of flew out the window. Left up to my own devices, I would definitely eat a more plant based diet and do away with meat completely!
I tried the vegetarian thing, too, but I ended going back to meat, too.
I love this product. I am off to buy some to enter the contest.
My daughter was a vegetarian for a long time. The Beyond Meat brand was one of our favorite meat substitutes.
Oh this sounds really interesting I would definitely be up for giving them a try. x
You and me both Sarah. It’d be fun to experiment with recipes, for sure.’
Wow…. a meat substitute that looks like meat and tastes like meat?!?
I wonder if this is available in Canada.
We try and eat more “plants’ already but if we can sneak them in without anyone knowing well that’s even better!
Haha that’s the way to do it. It would be pretty easy with these!
All of the dishes look yummy. I will have to try this and see if my husband and son can tell the difference.
These sound really good. I’d love to start incorporating more meat alternatives into our meals.
I am all about more plants in my life! It is amazing the plant based foods out there! Looks tasty!
I get enough protein, but would love to swap some meat for meatless meals. This sounds like a great option for me.
I have eaten this already. As I am on a meatless diet
This sounds really interesting. I am not a big meat eater so this could be awesome for me.
Wow, I’m pretty impressed they couldn’t tell it wasn’t meat! Lol. Sounds like a great option. I LOVE meat, so this one might be hard for me to make. But it really looks delicious!
I’m glad to hear your family liked it. I have a free product coupon and have been hesitant at cashing it in because I wasn’t sure if it was any good.
This looks appetizing and I definitely need the protein.
What a nice treat for the family, it’s hard to be a mom because you eventually run out of ideas to cook for dinner! Good to know we have a little help with these products.
We’ve used Beyond Meat for tacos and they were awesome. These look like some other great dishes to try. Thanks for sharing!

My kids all love meatball subs. I think I’d use it like that first, and I bet they’d be a big hit.
These all look and sound really great. I’m a meat lover though – these would be nice for a change though. That sub looks mighty tasty!
Never heard of this brand before. I am a major meat lover and fresh food lover so would this would be a test of my flexibility.
I love Italian food and this is a great way to prepare it. I think the healthier the ingredients, the better.
This sounds like a great option for those who are avoiding meat. This looks delicious and it’s nice that they have a variety.
Bloggers rock….you can find just about anything on these pages and when there is a review that goes with it….BINGO
I learned about this in my most recent nutrition class. I thought it was amazing what we are capable of these days. I am glad to see they made it to production and it is an enjoyable product.
Awesome! I am always looking for meat alternatives, so thank you for your great review and recipes. I will be looking for these next time I’m at the store. Thanks!
I like this brand so far …The food looks so good like its not freezer .. I like the way you did that sub
Looks impressive – but I doubt I could fool my hubby with it! He’s very picky. Sounds like a good option for vegetarians, though.
I will have to look more into these. I’m a pretty healthy eater but I could always use more protein!
These all look delicious! I can’t wait to try one out with the family this week.
I love trying new vegetarian products. The Spaghetti Squash Pasta With Italian Meatballs would be the first recipe i want to try. I will have to look for Beyond Meat products.
The Spaghetti Squash Pasta With Italian Meatballs looks so delicious and easy to make. I will have to pick up Beyond Meat so i can try this recipe.
My family love meat, however, there are times that we eat less vegetables which I know is not good. I’d be looking around for this Beyond Meat and not let them know that I am serving plant based proteins. I will tell them after they had the meal. I guess they will all be so surprised.

I am going to try this. I’m going to test it on my family without telling them anything about it. Otherwise, they will have an opinion before they even taste it.
My husband loves Italian dishes so much & these are some wonderful recipes to enjoy some plant based dishes with loads of protein content. These are some delicious foods which my kids would love too.
Sounds like a good brand to try. They all look delicious!
That looks delicious! It’s good to know that there are more options for those who are avoiding real meat.
All these dishes look delicious. I’ve never tried this brand but I often buy Gardein which is similar. Going to try this one next time I plan a meatless meal! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
This is our favorite favorite brand of faux meats! Does this mean your going vegetarian??? If so I am coming over for dinner more often!!!
Nope! I do not see being a vegan in my future but it is nice to mix it up a bit and try new things!
These look really great and easy to make! Awesome!
My Italian dish of choice is Eggplant Parm and so this looks like it would be a great choice for me to try. I never knew there were so many options. Thank you!
Im going to have my dad try one of these dishes tonight for supper.
I love Beyond Meat. Those meatballs are delicious. I have not been able to find the burger that looks like a real burger. The crumbles are great for chili and tacos.
