Yum
My family recently had movie night. We watched The Night At The Museum: Secret Tomb. Since there was a monkey in the movie (Dexter) keeping with the theme I decided to make monkey bread as a treat for my family to enjoy.

Semi-Homemade Monkey Bread Recipe
2015-04-06 22:39:45
Ingredients
- 2 large cans of refrigerated Flakey Layers biscuits (16 oz)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 cups of butter (1 and a half sticks)
- 1 Tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tsp Coconut oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Coat the inside of the bunt pan (I use coconut oil).
- Use either kitchen scissors or a sharp knife and cut up the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters.
- Add these pieces in the bunt pan. Fill to the top.
- Place butter, brown sugar and cinnamon in a pot on low until the butter is melted, mix the ingredients in the pot together.
- Drizzle the butter mixture over the biscuits, make sure you drizzle slowly and get into all the crevices and every biscuit with a nice coating.
- Use a baking sheet underneath the bunt pan and bake for 35 minutes.
Notes
- Make sure you allow to completely cool and then flip the bunt cake pan upside down on a plate. If you do not allow it to cool it will all crumble apart.

This was the 1st time I have ever made Monkey Bread. I scoured Pinterest for recipes but many were from recipes from scratch. I did finally find a recipe that I used bit I tweaked it a bit. I am all for making recipes from scratch but sometimes life is busy so semi-homemade will do too! There are so many variations you could do like adding nuts or even doing a icing glaze over it. Needless to say this went quick, guess they liked it! Yum
Have you ever made Monkey Bread before? If so how did you make it?

When I taught Family and Consumer Science (Home Economics) the freshmen always made monkey bread. I like to make this Cinnamon sugar pull-apart bread for special occasions and to take to breakfast meetings. It’s pretty easy since I make the dough in the bread machine. With small children in the house easy is really important.
That looks so good and it is so simple, you could make it just about anytime! Thanks for sharing a great recipe (as usual)
