My kids love to help out in the kitchen when I am cooking. Depending on the time I let them help and at times I plan special recipes to do with them.
We made this chocolate banana pops yesterday. They were so easy to make and their was no cooking involved. It was a very simple recipe and great to make with younger children too.
Chocolate Dipped Frozen Banana Pops
Ingredients:
Banana’s
Chocolate (semi-sweet chocolate chips)
Candy toppings
Popsicle sticks
First cut the banana’s in half then peel them away from their peels. Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave for 1 minute, mix then microwave from another minute. Gently place a Popsicle stick in the banana’s and dip one at a time in the chocolate then sprinkle the candy topping over the melted chocolate. Lay each on down on either a silicone baking mat or on parchment/wax paper and place in the freezer for at least one hour.
What simple recipes have you made with your children?

What a fun idea. My boys would LOVE those.
Kids like to make chocolate pretzels with sprinkles. I am sure they would like making the bananas -they look tasty.
Those look amazing!
These banana treats are so fun. My kids love them, they love to add strawberries in the mix too.
I never thought of strawberries
We love chocolate and bananas but I have never thought to put sprinkles on them. What a yummy snack.
Those look so good. I must make some now. Off to the store.
We’ve made something similar before, and they are heavenly. I always have cookie dough on hand so we can make fresh cookies any time of day. I like to let the kids decorate the cookies with yummy icing and toppings.
I love dipping just about anything in chocolate. What a fun way to get your kids in the kitchen.
I love these they taste like ice cream but so much better for you
I am always trying to get my daughter to eat more fruit. I am sure this will make her love bananas, and I would love to try this too.
These look so GOOD! Forget the kids. I want them.
This is a great treat and easy to make. And by using gluten-free chocolate and skipping on the candy toppings, this is also great for gluten sensitive people.
Banana pops are gonna be a hit later.
We’ve made something similar using chocolate bark and Reese’s chips. They go perfect with the banana!
That’s a great idea too. You could do a little of each kind!
No way – you can’t improve on chocolate and Reese’s!
A favorite around here! My daughter makes them all the time.
This is a great recipe for kids! I love that you all even did it together!
Those look easy and delicious, and I like that you can rationalize that the bananas make them healthy 🙂
This can be fun for the entire family! Great pictures, thanks for sharing.
It’s a great way to give kids a treat without going too far. They look tasty!
Yum — and so easy! Great for kids and holidays!
I’m not a kid, but I sure want to eat those. Haha!
Those look really good. I got a book with toddler filled recipes that I use with my toddler.
This is one of my favorite treats! They remind me of Disneyland which is where I first tried them as a kid..
What a special treat on both counts–to be in the kitchen with Mama and to make such yummy fun food. I’m sure my children would like making these chocolate dipped banana pops too!
My daughter is only 2.5, so we haven’t made many treats together, yet. She’s helped me make cookies, though! These look yummy, and I’ll bet she’d like sprinkling on the candies.
I like that the main source of the snack is fruit! i love frozen bananas, not sure why I’ve never thought to make them at home!
You know I’ve seen these lots of times and I still haven’t tried them! I don’t know why, they look so easy! I really need to try these.
We love Frozen bananas. Reminds me of Arrested Development.
We love making these 🙂 Actually, I think my husband likes them the best of anyone in our family, he says they remind him of the ones at Disney World.
What a fun idea. My little boy loves when he is able to help with recipes, so this is perfect for us.
I have still yet to make these which is crazy because they are obviously so easy! Thanks for reminding me of this, I should really try it with my kids, they’d love it!
We love making these, we love eating them even more.
What a fun treat! I’ve made some before a couple years back. This year it was all about apples though. 🙂
My kids used to love these when they were younger. I haven’t made them in years but they do look good!
Looks delicious!
Whatva yummy and interactive snack! I cannot wait for the day my 3 year old appreciates bananas 🙂
Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe, My kids will surely love this one if I will make some for them. 😉
Yum I have to make these!
Oh wow! These will be so fun to make with the kids. They look so good. I have to pin this.
I will have to start doing this with my kids!
These look so delicious with the sprinkles on top. I am going to try this out, it looks so delicious.
