DIY Chick-Fil-A Cow Appreciation Day Costume #CowAppreciationDay

Cow Appreciation Day is coming up! What is Cow Appreciation Day? Dress like a cow and head to your local Chick-Fil-A and eat for free.  Dressed head to toe like a cow and get a free meal, dressed partial get a free entree. Last year was the 1st time our family dressed like a cow and went to Chick-Fil-A.  This year we are going back but with a different plan, last year we printed off their printables and stuck spots to our shirts but this year we went further. Can you tell Chick-Fil-A is our favorite place to eat?

My kids helped make our costumes.

Materials:

T-shirts (they are on sale 2 for $6 at Michaels right now)

Sharpie markers

Ribbon

A sun visor type hat

Glue stick

Printer paper and Cardstock

Pink Markers

My aunt gave my kids flag sun visors for 4th of July so I took out the bungee backing and reversed the side that had not flag print on it, traced it with regular printer paper, cut it.  I took my cardstock and made free hand cow shape ears, cut them out and then glued them to the visor and then glued the sun visor shape I cut out over the ears leaving a long portion out.  In the center of the ears I colored pink. One the visor part I made cow eyes and a nose plus I added spots.  Then I put the bungee cord closure back in which took sometime to do, I used a pen to help me thread it through.

Then for the shirts, my kids and I randomly drew spots with a Sharpie throughout the front side of the shirt. And for a tail I used white ribbon and tucked it in the backside of their shorts leaving a long piece hanging out.

I look at this as an investment. As a family of 7 eating out is pricey and when we do go out it is a treat so to spend approximately $14.00 for free meals for my family is so worth it plus I will keep them for next year too!

What about you have you gone to Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A? If you haven’t gone, it’s tomorrow 7/14/15 all day at your local Chick-Fil-A! Have your kids help make costumes, it can be a family event!
