We had a homeschool field trip where the class was art based as well as geared to science. The kids did glue relief art.
Materials Needed:
A bottle of glue
Black construction paper or black cardstock
Crayons or oil pastels
Hairdryer
White paint
Toothbrush
The kids drew owls on their black construction paper with a pencil, then they traced over their pencil lines with glue. Since this was a class and it was 2 hours they used hairdryers to dry the glue. Next The kids chose what color crayons (they used beeswax crayons) or you could use oil pastels and shaded in where the glue was not. Then with a toothbrush they flicked paint over the paining to make it look like it was snowing.
The dried glue gave the artwork a 3D dimensional look and a texture. They turned out great!
