Please do not link up educational reviews – thanks!

My kids love to help me cook in the kitchen. So my son and I made dinner together the other night. He did most of the work!

turkey parm

Turkey Meatball Parmesan Subs:

1 lb ground turkey

1/4 cup panko crumbs

1/2 onion diced

1 teaspoon basil

2 cloves of garlic

homemade pasta sauce (you can see my recipe HERE) or you can use jar sauce

shredded mozzarella cheese & Parmesan cheese

hot dog rolls

turkey meatballs collageAdd all the ingredients in one bowl and mix together. Then roll into meatballs and place on a baking pan and bake on 425 degrees for 40 minutes.

Next add the cooked meatballs in the hot dog roll, drizzle the pasta sauce over the meatballs finally sprinkle the cheeses on top and then broil for a about 2 minutes. I like the cheese really melted and the bread crispy. If you do not like it then you do not have to broil but if you do not broil then place back in the oven again so that the cheeses melt.

This is a fun recipe to make with kids, from the measuring to rolling the meatballs. My son felt so accomplished when everyone said dinner was good!

  8. I think it is wonderful that you teach your kids to cook. It is a valuable life skill. I worked with too many kids that were in high school who didn’t know how to make much beyond microwave meals.

  17. I homeschooled my daughter through high school and one of the things we loved to do together was cook. We used to laugh and cut up! Actually, she still loves to cook with me and she is now 22. Great recipe.
