My kids love to help me cook in the kitchen. So my son and I made dinner together the other night. He did most of the work!
Turkey Meatball Parmesan Subs:
1 lb ground turkey
1/4 cup panko crumbs
1/2 onion diced
1 teaspoon basil
2 cloves of garlic
homemade pasta sauce (you can see my recipe HERE) or you can use jar sauce
shredded mozzarella cheese & Parmesan cheese
hot dog rolls
Add all the ingredients in one bowl and mix together. Then roll into meatballs and place on a baking pan and bake on 425 degrees for 40 minutes.
Next add the cooked meatballs in the hot dog roll, drizzle the pasta sauce over the meatballs finally sprinkle the cheeses on top and then broil for a about 2 minutes. I like the cheese really melted and the bread crispy. If you do not like it then you do not have to broil but if you do not broil then place back in the oven again so that the cheeses melt.
This is a fun recipe to make with kids, from the measuring to rolling the meatballs. My son felt so accomplished when everyone said dinner was good!

Oh yummy, what a fun way to make lunch with the kids. I love toasty cheesy subs.. this looks delicious!
We haven’t had meatball subs in ages. Thanks for the recipe, this sounds good for a coolish fall day!
Thanks so much for hosting! The sandwich looks delicious! Have a great weekend!
I know what we’re having for dinner on Sunday!
This looks like a great way to introduce kids to cooking. Who doesn’t want to get messy and play with raw meat. To them it is playdoh! And it looks wonderful too!. Yum.
I love how you got the kids involved. I’ll definitely have to try this with my two little ones, they always want to help mom in the kitchen!
Awesome! I love how involved your kiddos were! I think this is a fun project.
I think it is wonderful that you teach your kids to cook. It is a valuable life skill. I worked with too many kids that were in high school who didn’t know how to make much beyond microwave meals.
I’m not sure if my boys would eat this but I sure would!
This looks good!! Yum!!
I have to admit I have never had turkey meatballs before! Yes it is true, but these look so yummy I will have to try them.
Oh my goodness, now I am hungry! Looks great!
Yummy – I love meatballs! Those subs look so delicious!
Yum- what a fun think to make with the kids!
This looks great and so easy to make! We love meatball subs here!
We have made a similar recipe before and the kids LOVED it!!
I’m glad I’m not the only brave mom in the kitchen.
I’ve been cooking with my kids for awhile so when they are ready to fly the coup they can survive!
Lol
I homeschooled my daughter through high school and one of the things we loved to do together was cook. We used to laugh and cut up! Actually, she still loves to cook with me and she is now 22. Great recipe.
Nice recipe! you reminded me that I have not had meatball subs in a while-thanks! lol
Meatball subs are my favorite! These look delicious!! It’s great when you can involve your kids in helping you!!
Oh this is a perfect recipe for the kids to help with!
My son loves a good meatball sub. I don’t know why I never thought to make one myself. That looks fantastic!
This is so awesome! Thanks for the great post! I’ll be checking this out!
