We love onion rings in our home but I am not a big fan of fried foods so what’s the alternative? Baked onion rings. Here is a recipe I make for my family that love!
Ingredients:
Large Vadilla Onions
1/4 Cup of Ground Flax Seeds
1/2 Cup of Almond Milk
Salt & Pepper
1 Cup of Bisquick Mix
How to make them:
First un-peel and slice the onions in rings. Then take the Bisquick mix, ground flax seeds, salt and pepper and place them in a bowl (mix the ingredients together with your fingers) in a bowl. Pour almond milk in a bowl. Coat the sliced onions in the almond milk and then in the dry ingredients. I coat the onions 2 times. So I then re-coat the onions in the almond milk and dry ingredient mix. WARNING: your fingers will get very messy. Then I use a silicone baking mat but if you do not have one then drizzle a little olive oil or vegetable oil in the pan and bake on 400 degrees for 20 minutes and then I put it on broil for a few minutes for additional crisp.
Needless to say there are no leftovers!
