My boys will be starting soccer camp at our church next month for 2 weeks. This is their first camp and they are super excited about it. I decided to do something fun for them. Make them soccer shirts to wear to camp!
I headed off to Walmart to search their craft aisle to check out the products they had to make soccer balls on their shirts.
To my surprise I came across Elmer’s Painters Paint Markers! Perfect! They came in all kinds of great colors and for a pack of 5 it only cost me $9.97!
Plus Walmart even sells the Painters Paint Markers individually! If you only wanted a few individual Painters Paint Markers you could buy them at a everyday low price of $1.97! I am so going to go back and purchase a few girlie colors for my daughter and make her a shirt.
After my oldest son and I chose what colors we wanted we headed over to the boys clothing department to get 2 plain white t-shirts so I could make them their soccer balls on!
Their t-shirts were only $3.47 each!
When I got home I looked for a black and white picture of a soccer ball to use as my guide. Then I gathered all my materials together for this craft:
2 plain white t-shirts
2 pieces of cardboard
Elmer’s Painters Paint Markers
Soccer ball picture
Binder Clips
I placed the cardboard inside the t-shirt so their wouldn’t be any bleeding on the backside of the shirt. Then I folded the sides of the shirts under and used binder clips so that the cardboard wouldn’t move.
My oldest wanted the traditional black and white soccer ball while my 4 year old loves the color blue so I made his soccer ball blue and white.
I pulled out the 3 Painters Paint Markers I needed and gently but firmly pressed down on the tips on a hard surface with paper and then the paint flowed down the tip ready for use.
First I drew the outline of the soccer ball and then picked random areas to fill in with color.
I found these Painters Paint Markers so easy to use! I like that they do not leave a puffy dimension on the shirt, they dry super fast on fabric! My kids and I will definitely using more of this product over the summer for some craft fun! This product is perfect for us incorporate into our homeschooling as well as we do a lot of crafts!
Super easy to make with inexpensive materials! Made for a fraction of the cost if I were to purchase shirts already made, plus I have my new favorite crafting materials (Elmer’s Painter’s Paint Markers) left over to make more fun crafts!
Perfect for fabrics, flower pots, cups, glass and much more! The possibilies are endless!
