IT’S COOL TO HOMESCHOOL PART 1

For us we homeschool year round, a little more relaxed during the summer months though! I have been homeschoolingmy my oldest (5 years) since he was 2 1/2 years old but now it’s really offical he will be starting kindergarten! I am so excited! I have purchased all of our cirriculum, our school room (which is our livingroom area) is all set up – we are ready to go! I enrolled my son in a unschooling program where I document my homeschool hours, I just received notification this morning that he is enrolled, beginning yesterday! To kick off the celebration of homeschool I will be doing a fun few things for the month of August such as:
Why do I homeschool? Why do you? – accompanied by a link up!
Posting our cirriculum, what’s yours accompanied with a link up!
Posting our school areas, etc. – what’s yours look like accompanied by a link up!
I will be hosting a few homeschool giveaways as well:
Artisitic Pursuits – Grades K-3 Book One, An Introduction to the Visual Arts 2ND EDITION
English / Spanish Multi-lingual flash cards by Blinguals
For your littler homeschooler: A DVD by Baby Prodigy – 30 minutes to quiet a baby (delightful animations, calming visuals + more!)

Do you have littler homeschoolers, toddlers or preschoolers? How do you keep them busy learning while homeschooling your older homeschooler? I may have the solution with my learning activity bags! Come back & check out my 1st post on that later this week!
Spread the word about It’s Cool to Homeschool! I love to hear other homeschool mom’s ideas and input since I am a newbie!
Thanks!

  1. This is a great idea. It will get me motivated to start getting things ready – so I can link up with you! I’ll keep my eye out for your next update on it. And I’m borrowing your ‘button’ up there to put on my sidebar – hope that’s okay. 🙂

  2. I originally hadn’t planned to homeschool year round, but we’ve already started Kindergarten here too. It has been a bit more laid back though. I’m looking forward to all the link ups.

  3. Thanks Jacque – feel free to backlink the button!

  4. As a first year homeschooling family, I am SO excited to read about this! I can’t wait to see your homeschool area as we do not have a room we can dedicate to homeschooling & I have struggled with how to even set it up in our new house. Looking forward to reading more!

  5. I can’t wait to see all the link-ups. I might just link back to my post a while back about why I homeschool, and add your link. I don’t know. Can’t wait to see what people are using for their curriculum.

  6. Congrats on starting Kindergarten! I homeschooled my daughter for K last year and we just started 1st grade. I can’t wait to see your link ups!

  7. Oh, I can only hope this information is around when I start homeschooling my little guy! It’ll be about 3-4 years before I can so here’s to hoping!

  8. Congratulations!!!! I’m far away from school time, my baby is only 7 months, but I’m really looking forward to learn of this Homeschooling things.. sound interesting! and way safer!!

  9. oo yay can’t wait to read all of these fun posts! I need to get started planning.. we are starting the week after labor day week when we get back from the beach 🙂

  10. How fun! I can’t wait till we’re official next year 🙂

  11. Great! I’m looking forward to joining the linkups. :o) Maybe it will give me more incentive to actually figure out all of our curriculum choices. LOL! I’ll be mentioning this on my blog.

  12. I started “homeschooling” Tabitha last year when she turned 2 and now she is 3 1/2 while Amelia is 2. I hope to be able to follow along with these posts, post my own and link up. Where we live we don’t need to be “official” until the children turn 8, but I plan on “teaching” as we have been: letting the girls learn at their own pace, having fun, having some planned “lessons” (the girls wouldn’t let me get away with not having “lesson time” and doing projects).
