A Mommys Adventures does a really fun blog carnival every Thursday – read your child a story then accompany it with art!
Keeping with our dinosaur theme this week we read When Dinosaurs Came With Everything.
We checked this book out at our library so much that I wound up buying it, we LOVE this book – it’s actually one of my favorites too!
A little bit about the book:
Just when a little boy thinks he’s going to die of boredom from running errands with his mom, the most remarkable, the most stupendous thing happens. He discovers that on this day, and this day only, stores everywhere are giving away a very special treat with any purchase. No, not the usual lollipop or sticker. Something bigger. Much, MUCH bigger. It’s a dream come true, except…what exactly do you do with these Jurassic treats? And how do you convince Mom to let you keep them?
For our craft to go with the story the boys colored dinosaurs with markers and then made handprints for their spikes. Then my boys glued googly eyes on their dino’s.
My preschooler’s dinosaur (I was so proud of his coloring – he is staying in the lines better more & more!)
My toddler’s dinosaur
Have a dino-riffic day!

Wow, I’ve seen a lot of dinosaur related art ideas, but this is really great – using the handprints along the dino spines is a fantastic idea!
I have never seen the handprints on dinos before.
