We started off at a local theme park panning for Gemstones!
Then matching them up when we got home on our gemstone chart
Then we sorted them by what we thought they were according to our Gemstone chart in a egg carton.
We collected Amethyst, Emerald Calcite, Crystal (the BIG one), Pyrite, Obsidian Arrowhead & much more!
This was a great experience to see the different sizes, colors and to match them all up. My boys had fun & didn’t even know they were learning!
Then we played ABC Twist Game
We also borrowed from our local libray the Fisher Price Tio blocks. JJ looked at the directions / pictures and made a helicopter!
Then what my boys really liked that I used for fun & Science we puring, measuring, etc.
I set out different bowls, measuring cups, a turkey baster, a marinade injector, etc. for this project – they did this for hours! I am glad we did this outdoors on our patio because they went from pouring to watering my plants to drenching each other with the turkey baster & the injector!
Measuring & learning how to read the measuring cup
All 3 kids LOVED this – even the baby! We will be doing this again soon but using diffrerent items.
JJ with his friend on a ride at a local park (I made this pic large because his smile on his face while talking to his friend was priceless)
Both my boys in awe of this huge gator (yes, it’s behind glass!)

Oh my gosh, that ‘gator looks like it’s going to step right up and take a bite!
My two boys love the water pouring activity too, and it usually ends the same way it does with your kids!

Great week. It’s wonderful that your boys are learning so much science so early. Beautiful pictures too, and a great idea with water play.
What a fun week! The measuring activity looks like a lot of fun! We will have to do that once it warms up a little more here 🙂
I love the idea of water play outside as well as mining for gems! I don’t know if yours are into dinosaur train, but ever since the episode where Tiny finds shiny gems and minerals in the cave we’ve been talking about gems/minerals and playing “cave”
What a fun week !!!
That photo freaked me out! The glass is so clean you can’t even tell it’s there! (shiver)
Your post reminded me that we have a deer park just 20 minutes away where we could go feed the deer (have gone with my older children years ago) and do the gem mining. Cool. I also love that alligator picture.
Hey! I’m visiting from Follow Friday and am a new follower. Enjoying looking through your blog. 🙂
