Author, Michael J. Dowling and Illustrator Sarah Buell Dowling have put a great unique children’s book together called: FLIP ALONG FUN is an colorful, interactive large (9″ X 12″) children’s flip story book that stimulates the imagination, educates the mind and provides hours of fun. Children can create their own animal stories by selecting story panels. With twenty-seven colorful panels, each containing part of a storyline, are arranged inside the book in three sections of nine panels each. This whimsical book is a mix and match board book for children ages 2 to 6.

I found that this book was a great tool for me as I incorporated it into our daily homeschooling.

For my preschooler I used it to teach him addition. The story panels are illustrated with for example 2 of a pictures of bunnies, the next panel 2 pictures of a cat them you flip and then match up to the answer which will not only have the actual number but all the animals together so the child can count the animals and use them as a manipulative.

Then as I have been teaching my preschooler rhyming words this book have great ryhming words on the panels as we read through the stories. I would then ask my son which words rhymed. He really enjoyed using this book, the smile on his face speaks for himself!

I also used this book with my 2 1/2 year old. With him I asked him the animal names on each page and the colors. He enjoyed the colorful illustrations and especially turning the pages to see what was next! This book will be great for me to teach him his numbers in a few months.

I will be using this book for years to come with all three of my children! I highly recommend every parent and homeschool mom to purchase this book to incorporate into their child’s learning. Your child will be having so much fun they will not even know they are learning!
