I decided to add a section in my blog on what I am teaching my toddler. Noting games, books, activities that we are doing. Right now he has learned most of his colors, I think he picked this up fairly quickly because he hears me teaching my preschooler.
I saw this on the Snail Trail blog & I decided to try it out. Materials needed: mrables, spoon & plastic bottle. Using the spoon he took the marbles & filled the plastic bottle w/ the marbles. I enjoyed this for about 10 minutes then he started kicking the marbles everywhere. Next time I will only give him about 15 marbles instead of such a large pile.
Since he is learning his colors I went to the hardware store & grabbed a few of the Mickey Mouse paint swatches & with paperclips, he matches the paperclips to the paint swatch. This is good for his dexterity because he is actually putting the paperclips onto the paint swatch that the color matches to.
My toddler also enjoys this wooden sequence puzzle made by Plan Toys http://www.plantoys.com/about/ (my sister in law gave it to me, it used to be my nephews) The pieces have 1/2 a picture on it then you match the rest of the picture, when completed it’s a long puzzle line.

Wow. Nice stuff!!
