Valentine’s Day Handprint Hearts Craft

Love is in the air….  I am a little late doing Valentine’s Day crafts with my kids so I decided to do an easy handprint heart craft with my two little ones.  It is an easy craft which makes it perfect for smaller children.  It takes longer to clean up than to actually do the craft!

Materials Needed:

Pink or red washable paint

Thick paper, I used watercolor paper

A paint brush

Red marker

On clean hands paint your child’s hand, make sure you paint the whole hand (finger tips and all).  With their hand spread open firmly press their hand on the paper. I used a baby wipe to clean their hands so that I did not have to bother with water and soap that way I could finish the craft without my little ones getting antsy. Next paint the next hand, firmly pressing their hand on the paper next to the first hand print so that their thumbs are touching which will leave the thumb spans a heart shape.  If you hold the picture upside down you can see a heart! When the handprints are dry use the red marker to color in a heart inside the touching hands.
