Asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables. It can be tricky to prepare and if you do not cook it long enough it will e tough to eat, cook it too long it will be mush. I prefer steaming mine which only takes moments to cook.
How To Prepare Delicious Asparagus In Less Then 10 Minutes
First you clean the asparagus (I use my homemade fruit/vegetable cleaner). Cut off the ends (about 1/2 inch). Next add 1/4 cup of water in a pan, allow the water to boil then add the asparagus place a lid over the pan and reduce heat to medium cook for 5 to 7 minutes. To test to see if the asparagus is tender enough use a fork and poke the asparagus. Then in a bowl with ice water add the asparagus and blanch it for 2 minutes. Finally serve. Viola! The most tasty asparagus and it only took less than 10 minutes to prepare! I know there are different ways to prepare it. I have seen recipes with asparagus wrapped in bacon, that is next on my list to make! There are several ways to cook it – roast, grill or stir-fry your asparagus. How about you, how do you prepare your asparagus? Yum
