We had a homeschool field trip to a lab where they had a class about animal habitats for the kids but prior to the class the kids got to hold all kinds of creepy animals. One of them was a hissing cockroach. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! Gross! Needed to say I made by boys SCRUB their hands after they held it.

But looks like your son is enjoying himself!
Ew! No, no no! I think it’s great that he’s so brave but I’m with you – GROSS!
Ewww, just seeing the pix of that cockroach freaks me out…..but your son is having a blast….boys!
Ewwww! I couldn’t! LOL
Already not a fan of this one, ugh, gives me the creepy crawlies!
Oh gosh, I’d freak out! Having only girls, I don’t think we’d get into this. He looks like he loves it though! 😉
No stinkin’ way. I am squeamish and we’re separated by miles and a monitor!
Oh my, he has way more nerve than I do. Just the thought of seeing that makes me cringe…… never mind holding it!!!!LOL
Oh, yuck! Eewww, eewww….But look at his huge smile!!
Ugh. Eek. *expletives*
You’d probably hear that from me in that order if it were my son. But then again, he’d probably crush the cockroach with his feet, lol.
I detest cockroaches of any sort! One of my professors in college had hissing cockroaches as the lab pets. Very gross!
Wow he’s a brave one! I could never do that.
Your son is darling, the bug, “not so much” !!
Joins me for WW on Oh My Heartsie Girl

Oh wow – that is quite the fun field trip! I don’t think I would have been brave enough to hold a hissing coackroach though. Hahaha!
How fun, but ewww!!
eeek, it’s a creepy crawly.
Yikes, holy heebie jeebies! =)
Hissing cockroaches! I don’t like even the common ones. Brave children! Thanks for hosting.
Boys & their bugs! They love them! LOL
Ewww. Gross. You are such a good mom for letting them handle the cockroach! 🙂 Thanks for hosting.
Snakes, I don’t mind….but hissing cockroaches?????? Grosssssssssss!!!!
Good for you though for letting them hold them!
hahahaha I have a couple of bugs in my WW, too! Totally not a fan!
EWW! HATE HATE HATE BUGS!!!
The bug exhibits always creep me out. I would definitely turn down a chance to HOLD a cockroach. Yipes!
I visited a bug zoo a few years ago and held one of their hissing cockroaches. It was freaky but it felt good to face my fear! (Yes, I scrubbed my hands too!)
Eeewww, boys and bugs! My little guy walks around looking for dead bugs to show me so I can say, “Yuck! Throw it!”
Big Family Small Farm
roaches are one of my biggest fears. I’ve got chills just looking at the picture
Yikes. I wouldn’t pick that up to save my life! lol
Yuck! I hate bugs and looking at that cockroach gave me the shivers!
I hate most bugs but don’t mind hissing cockroaches for some reason, lol. I remember getting to hold one n a class trip as a kid.
Those are so disgusting! Definitely not something I would be willing to hold!
EWWW! But he looks like a happy guy and it doesn’t bother him!
oh my…yes….eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww is right! But boys love that kind of stuff
Bugs!!! Love it!
Gross!! But my boys would love it!
I still have not been brave enough to take my kids to the insect place. I like to act brave because daddy is deployed all the time but seriously bugs gross me out. My heart skips a beat when I see a spider in the house and then I mentally get prepared smile at the kids and grab a cup to take it outside. After I am done and the kids are not watching I jump around a little and get it out of my system. Yuck bugs.
EEEKKKK! Bugs give me the creeps – even my boys aren’t crazy about them. “Dad needs to spray,” they’ll say! LOL
That is crazy! You are a braver woman than me!
He is definitely brave! I could never bring myself to touch anything that looks remotely close to a cockroach!!! Eeeeek!
Gah! Our girls are fascinated by bugs, but they won’t pick them up. They’ll stand and point saying, “Bug! Bug!” over and over, lol.
Blech! Looks like he was having a blast though!
Late, but here nonetheless! My youngest son likes to squish flies with his fingers. Sick!
Eww to the roach, but what a cute boy!
Yikes.. I wouldn’t touch it.
I was eating almonds…. gag. lol
Ewh, yuck bugs. My doggie takes care of big bugs around here. She is a Schnauzer and they are ‘ratters’; were bread to hunt out the rats of the Bubonic Plague of the middle ages. So she hunts down anything that swirms and rustles in the grass or garage.
Missed you this week. I was too sick to think straight. Nasty achey cold that is now manageable with a standing cough. doh!
