Today as we walked my husband out to say good-bye as he left for work the boys & I found a large dead dragonfly up our front walk way. I think it just died because the ants were fastly crawling towards it. My boys intreged, I scooped it up & decided we would be learning about dragonflies today!
Our lesson included looking at it closely under the magnifying glasses, trying to look up the species name, learn about what it eats, etc.

It was neat for mostly my preschooler who got to see if it was a male or female (our’s is a male), etc. My toddler told me what color’s it was. We are holding onto the dragonfly in the ziploc baggie until my husband gets home, they insist!
