Every Thursday A Mommy’s Adventures does a really fun blog carnival every Thursday – read your child a story then accompany it with art!
My toddler has always been fascinated by buses so I decided to do a bus week theme. Although my kids are homeschooled, maybe someday he will ride on a bus for a homeschool function but not going to school!
Get ready for a rip-roaring, rhyming ride that celebrates all things drivin’ with a special spotlight on a kid’s four-wheeled best buddy–his school bus! When you’re a kid, your school bus can be your very best friend. Morning, noon, and nighttime, too, that golden buddy is at your service. Ready to drive you and your friends to and from school.
This week we tried Q-tip painting! I cut out a schoo lbus & had my son paint it with tempra paint. I cut out plastic to make it look like the wind shield, then he painted plastic red for the tail lights.

I love the graffiti on the bus.
VERY CUTE! I LOVE THE WINDOW!
What a cute idea! Love the bus….we might have to try that one sometime.
oo this turned out super cute! Did you free hand it? It turned out awesome!
Love the school bus shape! Did you use a template?
I know what you mean about kids being obsessed by school buses even though they are homeschooled. Mine got to ride one once during some kind of festival where you had to park far away and be shuttled – and they loved it! I like how you used plastic for the windshield!
The book looks very fun, and it’s a fun project to go with it. We tried q-tip painting with Michael’s mini-books, and it was a big success.
Love the addition of the wind shield. My son enjoys watching his sister climb on the bus for school. He also likes to listen for the beeps as it backs up!
Little Page Turners – I cut this out at our library using the Ellison Die Cut Machine! Free to use just bring your own paper! 🙂
You could add in a picture of your son, and it would look like he was driving the bus 🙂
What a great project,I wish our library had a Die Cut Machine for us to use :0)
I love the look of q-tip painting!! Thank you for linking up to start :0)
