Do you remember this POST about the caterpillars we found in our back patio? 1 of the 2 butterflies came out of it’s crystalis! The other one I think didn’t make it – we will be opening it up next week to look inside and studying it underneath the microscope. What a blessing to see the 1st butterfly, we took it out of the bug house we had it in and had a opportunity to hold it on the stick that I placed in the bug house. It stayed for about 45 minutes than flew away!

Praise God! What an awesome nature study this was for my kids. Sure we have studied butterflies in the past but this was fun having the hands on experience! Watching the process from caterpillar to butterfly than releasing it!

Very cool! My little one would love this! She found a dead one on the sidewalk during an afternoons stroll and carried it home. She was being so gentle that I couldn’t make her put it down. It flew away (with a little help) and we went in (to wash our hands).
