My kids and I went to the Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue pre-screening last night. My little ones were excited about getting to see this movie so we did a craft to celebrate.
Clothespin Planes
Materials:
1 clothespin
4 Popsicle sticks
Paint, glue, scissors
1 Pony Bead
The kids painted the clothespins and 2 popsicle sticks the colors of their choice. While they painted 1 cut 2 popsicle sticks 1) about 1 1/2 inches, 2) 2 inches (1 will be the propeller and the other the tail). After I cut these to size the kids painted them.
Once all the paint was dry it was time to glue. We opened the clothespin and glue into place a full size popsicle stick and the other full size popsicle stick glued on the top. Next we glued the 2 inch piece on the top back of the clothespin for the tail. Space them out so when you hold it you can see them both. We let these dry for a few hours.
Finally it was time to glue the propeller. STANDING the clothespin up glue the 1 1/2 popsicle stick to the clothespin and then the pony bead on top of the popsicle stick. Keep it standing with this portion facing up and allow to dry overnight.
They turned out cute didn’t they?
