Since I am Doing Apologia Swimming Creatures 5th day with my 6 year old this year with accompanying crafts for him and my 4 year old, I figured I would put together a ocean theme sensory bin for them to play with – I will keep it for most of the year.
I used blue pebbles I got from Walmart
Blue shell decorations I got in the dollar area at Target
Then sea creature toys I already had
A empty gum container for them to use to put the pebbles in
Tongs
They liked using the tongs to pick up pebbles and put into the container, the container has a small hole in the lid so they liked to shake out the rocks back in the bin.
The is perfect for teaching fine motor skills, dexterity, creativity and independent play!
