We had a Earth Day co-op yesterday with our homeschool group this week! So I am incorporating our craft along with these books we read this week with our stART.
I read the class the following books
Both books by LITTLE GREEN BOOKS
Then we did a craft from recycled materials
Using magazine pages the kids traced their hands, glued it on the back of recycled cereal boxes, I did print of the planet Earth’s, we wrote captions on them. This one is my preschooler’s we hung it on our light switch in the kitchen because that seems to be a light that always gets left on! This is supposed to help us ALL to turn it off!
This one is my toddler’s – I did his a bit different because he can’t read – I printed off a picture of a faucet & hung it in the kids bathroom to remind them to always turn off the water when they are done.
Then we seperated & discussed what is recyclable.
We had a lot of fun!
Check out my Earth Day giveaways that end today I Cherish Planet Earth Book & Game AND 5 Little Green Books (to 5 winners) – great for teaching!
Have a Happy Earth Day!
Cute Earth Day Books and Activities. I have some books that I read with my kindergarteners and first graders for earth day, but they are not age appropriate for Little Sweets. Do you think those two books would be appropriate for a toddler?
Both great activities! Lots of fun.
Your reminder signs turned out great!
Those are cute crafts!! I’m hoping I might be able to do this with my kiddos today. 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration.
Blessings!

Very cute idea! I’m a little OCD about turning off lights in the house, but my husband could definitely use the reminder!
What a great idea! They will love seeing their own hand in the reminder.
Love this post! Shared it over on my blog as part of my Earth Day Celebration!
