A good friend of mine has Handwriting w/o Tears for her kids. We were over her house & she pulled the laminated cards out along w/ Play-Doh & her daughter & JJ pulled the Play-Doh apart & traced it over the block letters on the handwriting cards. When I got home I looked up the pricing for these cards & I knew it wasn’t affordable for our family – time to put my thinking cap on. I decided to make my own. I went to: First School printed each letter off & laminated them. JJ has enjoyed pulling the Play-Doh apart & tracing over the letters. There are so many different ways to use these card, they can make Play-Doh balls, roll out the Play-Doh (snakes), etc. to trace the letters.

That is a great idea. I’m going to do this one for sure. My four year old uses “handwriting without tears” at OT and loves it but she has never pulled cards out, just wooden shapes with a mat and a chalkboard with chalk, water and a sponge….also wonderful activities which I have already got on my to make at home list. I’m glad I saw this here!
