Christmas has crept up fast this year and normally I do a few Christmas related crafts with my kids and I haven’t really done any. So today while I homeschooled my older children I set out this craft activity for my little one to make.
Materials:
Cheerios (we used multi-gran giving it a bit of a variety in color)
Pipe cleaners
I took one end of the pipe cleaner and folded the tip under so that any sharp wire pieces were not sticking out. Then I folded the rest of the pipe cleaner into a candy cane shape. With Cheerios in front of her she threaded them onto her pipe cleaner candy cane. When she was done I did the same with the other end folding it under.
Not only was this a fun craft but it is great for little hands and eye coordination. What Christmas crafts or activities have you done with your toddler?

Aww, these are cute and look like a lot of fun! I will have to make these with my daughter!
So cute! I’m going to do this with my little ones. They’ll love making a Cheerio candy cane.
This looks like a super fun way to spend some time with little kids! I will have to share this idea with my Sis for my niece!
I was thinking of my niece too, and the kids in the neighborhood when they come over today. 🙂
Those candy canes would be a fun craft to do with my grandkids. I think they would eat more than they get on the pipe cleaner though.
Those are adorable, and they’re so easy to make. Plus, they look good enough to eat 🙂
Oh, these are too cute! The girls will have a blast doing this. Thanks for the idea.
These are so cute, what a lovely candy cane idea. I might have to make some myself. 😉 x
How cute is that! We always have Cheerios on hand at our house too!
Ha ha! I think everyone has Cheerios in their cabinets!
What a fun idea to do with the kids. Bet it’d be a big hit in Sunday School today too.
What an easy to do and fun craft! I also like that you can munch as you make it!
Those are so cute. My kids made these in preschool and I still hang them on our tree 🙂
Completely cute. I can see my son trying to eat it too, but that could be part of the fun in making it!
I love this! I think we may have to add a few of these to our tree this week!
These look super fun! I’m wondering if this is something we could make for an outdoor tree too to feed the birds….. Great idea!
Super cute idea. A great way to improve fine motor skills.
There are so many great things about this craft project – it looks good, it is inexpensive, it helps with hand and eye coordination and it can be done all year long and made in to various shapes.
Super cute and perfect for the little ones! Love fine motor activities that don’t involve a joy stick 🙂
That’s such an easy craft project to do with kids of all ages. I’m sure my kids would love doing these too!
This is such a cute a cute craft to do with toddlers!! My nephews gave me ornaments like this when they were younger and they were always my favorite to put on the tree.
Oh I remember making those as a kid! They were so much fun I remember. I should do this with my Kindergartner. She would love it!
We haven’t seen this craft yet! I love the idea to use my toddler’s favorite cereal for an ornament!
Ugh! totally wish I would have saw this earlier. My kids would have loved the heck out of this and I have everything at home to make it
