I love to cook for my family but because most recipes require so much preparation I do not cook as much as I would like to. Recently I was introduced to products by KitchenIQ that are definite time savers in the kitchen!
Some of these items are: the Easy Grip which is the perfect size gadget because it takes up very little space in the kitchen. The KitchenIQ Easy Grip sharpens damaged and dull knives lightening fast for everyday knife maintenance. Slots includes carbide blades at preset angles which quickly brings a dull knife back to life. Plus this knife sharpener polishes the knife edge with just a few pulls through the fine slot.
The Potato 3-in-1 Peeling Tool is the best invention ever! This gadget is super compact as it is 3 products in one: a cleaning brush, a peeler and a sharp knife to slice and dice! Ideally designed for potatoes but I have used it on other food items as well such as cleaning fruits and vegetables. The coarse bristles scrubs dirt very quickly, the non-stick coated blade allows for easy peeling and slicing and the small paring knife easily removes on the food item.
I found that the Better Zester is perfect for zesting oranges, lemons, limes and, grapefruit. What I love about this zester is that my fingers and knuckles do not get chewed up by the V-etched teeth. Too many times in the past I have cut my fingers up with other zesters but with this design and non-stick coating it makes it an easy glide system with very little effort. Plus the the zester has a slide on clear container that has measurements on it so you can see how much you have zested – no more guessing!
I put these wonderful gadgets to the test with my family at a gathering. The mom’s in my family love to cook so showing off these products was exciting. Like me they found all of these items a must in the kitchen! The star of the show was the Easy Grip Knife Sharpener for several reasons; the functionality and the size!
My family loves our desserts o we made Key Lime pie with the KitchenIQ products. All 3 items were used to make this pie. The Easy Grip Knife Sharpener for making sure the paring knife was sharp for cutting the limes, the 3-in-1 Peeling Tool for cleaning the limes, the paring knife for cutting the limes for squeezing lime juice and the Better Zester for zesting lime peel.
- 3 eggs
- 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of finely zested lime peel
- 1/3 cup lime juice
- 1 pastry shell (mine was store bought)
- Cool whip or whip cream
- First separate the egg yolks from whites. Beat the egg yolks in a bowl until thick then stir in the condensed milk and lime peel. Next gradually add in the lime juice while beating. Once everything is mixed add the mixture to the pastry shell. Finally bake on 350 for 15 minutes. Once cooled chill overnight and serve the following day. I did add a few small scoops of Cool Whip to the top of each slice of pie.
All 3 of these wonderful KitchenIQ products can be purchased directly from their web-site or from Amazon. Which of these KitchenIQ products would you love to try in your kitchen?
