Cuban Knight Anole (Almost) Wordless Wednesday With Linky

WW CAMERA

We tend to see quite a bit of wildlife in our back yard. Animals like Black Racer Snakes, Butterflies, Squirrels, Birds, Lizards and more. Once in a while we are fortunate to get to see Cuban Knight Anole Lizards. This one is about 12 inches long. They are fast and are not the nicest lizards around, they are pretty to look at with their brightly colored green skin.

What kind of wildlife do you see in your yard? My favorites in our yard are the Bluejays and Cardinals.

  1. Pretty and interesting! Love his color =)

  2. Wow! You have lizards in your backyard? That is so awesome. And just a wee bit freaky. No lizards here. Just squirrels, birds, groundhogs, rabbits and racoons.

  3. Great photo! I can never take pictures of the lizards in our yard, they’re way too fast! Thanks for giving the proper name for them- I’ve been calling them “the green guys”. The hummingbirds and “our” woodpecker are my favorite visitors to our yard.

  4. Well isnt he cute? We have quail, rabbits, and we have even seen a fox.

  5. Cool discovery.

  6. Robin (Masshole Mommy) says:

We always see those little critters when we’re in FL. I am glad we don’t have them here in MA πŸ™‚

  7. you should see the lizards we have in AUS!

  8. I see my share of lizards just walking from my bedroom to the kitchen πŸ˜‰ Thanks for joining Oh My Heartsie Girl WW!

  9. We just had a baby sidewinder rattlesnake. We have plenty of lizards here in the desert as well along with a whole variety of snakes. Our birds right now are black chinned humming birds, house finch, Scott’s oriole, black hooded grosbeaks, tanagers, mockingbirds, ring-necked turtle doves, mourning doves, ravens, Say’s phoebe, and a few others.

  10. Very nice.

We see mostly skunks and a lost frog from the creek near us.

  11. Oh my goodness… I just about had a heart attack because I am deathly afraid of lizards! LOL I know it’s an irrational fear but it is a paralyzing one for me! I hope you are having a lovely morning and that you have a fabulous week! Thank you for hosting this WW Linky! If you get a chance we’d love for you to link-up to Party Under the Big Top, the #BigTopBlogParty as well!

    Much love,

  13. Looks cute, but I think I could do without all the ‘pets’ you mentioned πŸ˜‰

  14. My parents use to get those lizards all the time. I remember one once hitched a ride home with us. My kids thought that was pretty cool.

  15. Very pretty colour! We get a lot of lizards, butterflies, and bugs too… won’t be able to name most of them though πŸ˜›

  16. That is such a cute lizard. You must get a lot of little critters like these around your home living in a warmer environment.

  17. What a great catch! They’re so cute! πŸ™‚

  18. Most recently I’ve been seeing frogs. Let’s jsut say they usually get the right of way… LOL

  19. I always thought lizards were so cute! With them I don’t have to worry about allergies.
