Since my kids have been little I have always allowed them to help me in the kitchen. Of coarse their favorite things to help with is the baking because they know they get to lick the bowl in the end!  It is a great time for learning and bonding.  I was recently sent The Berenstain Bears Country Cookbook which is an amazing book to add to our cookbook collection.    Berenstain Bears cook book   This book has a nice variety of 40 kid-friendly recipes which include breakfast, lunch, main meals and desserts/snacks.  Each recipe is super easy for children read and understand.   honey hunt cookies collage   My son could not wait to see his finished creation. He sat in front of the stove and stared through the window of the stove door watching his cookies bake and drooling to taste them!  honey hunt cookies cook   Each page is nice and brightly colored along, making it inviting for children to want to use. Along with simple directions and a photo of the completed recipe which I find appealing to children. My children like to see what they are going to make and it gets them excited to want to cook. Plus this book has cooking tips in the back of the book such as sweet facts about honey.  Example:  For each cup of sugar in a recipe, you can substitute 3/4 cup plus one tablespoon of honey.  Kitchen measurements are also noted, broken up into conversions.   I am sure this cookbook will get a lot of use, each one of my children have given me their list of items they want us to make.      honey hunt cookies 1a Yum
