I have a little problem that I really do not share with anyone because it’s embarrassing.  What’s the problem? Bladder leakage! It is a conversation I have with other mom friends and it amazes me how common this problem is and here I thought I was the only one!  It started when I was 32 years old and I had our 1st son and now fast forward 9 years later and four more kids my bladder leakage has definitely gone from happening once in awhile to a daily occurrence. I am sure it will only get worse if we have a 6th baby too!

I always thought this problem was for elderly people but it’s not! Did you know that more people with bladder leakage are in their 20’s than their 80’s? Plus the average age of someone with bladder leakage is only 52! That is still young – only 11 years older than me! More people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger than 60 or older!  I am happy to say at least I fit in the younger category!

Over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage.  To help support them and bring the condition and Depend Underwear out of hiding, Depend has created a new social movement and charitable cause called Underwareness.  I used to have the misconception that Depends were for old folks and I associated them to bulky “diapers” but I was completely wrong! What a perfect solution helping one manage these little or big leaks with confidence and without the embarrassment!

You can never predict when bladder leakage is going to happen so Depend should be a part of my daily!  Try it FREE it for free, get your FREE SAMPLE and give it a try!  Support Underwareness and Depend® has pledged to donate up to $3 million to The Simon Foundation for Continence and United Way over the next three years to advance the support and education of bladder leakage issues. But Depend needs your help—share our photos and videos with friends to spread by tagging your social posts #Underwareness or #DropYourPants.

  1. Occasionally I get caught off guard with a sneeze, and that is NO fun! Having discreet protection is such an easy fix.

  2. This is one of my biggest worries as I get older. I’m glad they are talking about it and bringing attention to this problem.

  3. Robin (Masshole Mommy) says:

I don’t have leakage issues, but there is a whole group of moms in my zumba class who do & there is always a collective sigh when a song with jumps comes on!

  4. As we get older…. Depends may be in our future. I know my sister in law is having some problems. When I was younger, I seemed to have more problems with bladder leakage than I do now. I think my diet and exercise has helped. But…. there is always Depends if I need them.

  5. LBL is the absolute pits. It’s more of an annoyance than a medical catastrophe, but it sure does mess with your self confidence. =/

  6. I love how these LOOK so much better than they used to, ya know? That helps the situation!

  7. I see a lot of this in my future with two aging parents and my own aging too! Thank you for promoting an awareness so that it is less of an embarrassment and more of a fact of life 🙂

  8. Nobody likes to be caught off-guard. Glad they make products to prevent the embarrassment!

  9. Uggh. Bladder leakage is the worse. Thanks for sharing your issues so that others can be aware it’s no big deal and there are ways to deal with it.

  10. I don’t really have this problem, but the extra protection for those that do is great.

  11. It’s great that this issue is being talked about so much more now. It’s not something that just affects the elderly!

  12. I’m 53, had only one child but did have a hysterectomy 2 years ago and worried about this after the procedure. Luckily, no leakage yet and I hope I don’t get it but the statistics are not in our favor!

  13. I didn’t realize that so many had this issue. I wonder what causes it? I don’t know anyone with it but it could just be they keep it to themselves you know? I’m glad there’s stuff out there to make people with this more comfortable and sanitary.

  14. It is hard to struggle with this issue, but outside of having corrective surgery. Not much we can do, right?

  15. I’m glad there is something out there for those who suffer. I tend to have an occasional whoops from snoozing or laughing.

  16. I have LBL for about 10 years now and it is not any fun. I am currently taking medication for it.

  17. My dad wore Depends for years. They worked great and weren’t bulky at all.

  18. Having babies totally screwed me up. I have to wear liners now all the time jic.

  19. WOW! such amazing honesty and transpency. When I was pregnant I had that problem. Thank you for sharing your story.

  20. I hear you! I’ve suffered from LBL since having my third kid. It is no fun and embarrass. Love having a little extra protection.

  21. When I was pregnant u dealt with this a lot. I know a few people who still do after pregnancy. I had no idea it affected so many people though!

  22. Im so glad this has become more common to speak about. I remember when it was such a taboo subject.

  23. This is very embarrassing and it is something to talk about and solve, it happens once in a while.

  24. Thankfully my leaks only happened during my pregnancies. I really could have used these Depends then!

  25. I guess you can definitely depend on depend, haha! Seems like a great one – love their awareness campaign as well.

  26. The only time I experience this is when I laugh really hard. I know it is very common and I am glad that Depend it bringing it out in the open so people don’t have to feel so embarrassed about it.

  27. Thankfully it hasn’t happened to me, but I know it happens frequently. It’s awesome that you can depend on Depend 🙂

  29. Doesn’t happy to me thank goodness but I know someone it does and they actaully use this brand. They say it’s the best

  30. I love how this campaign has helped to remove the stigma from this topic. It’s definitely one that most of us who have given birth can relate to.

  31. Depends are awesome. My grandmother and mom will not buy any other product.

  36. After many children being evicted from my womb, I too suffer from bladder leakage. It’s life’s biggest moments that slow me down. Great topic to openly discuss. It happens.

  37. Sneezing & coughing is something that I really have to be careful when doing!! I’m glad Depend is helping spread the word that this is normal!

  38. Yes it can be embarrassing. It would not be a conversation starter, but many people out there have this problem. Once in awhile I do to with laughing to hard!
