This Father’s Day we decided to make a fun craft for my husband’s desk. It only took about an hour to make, the longest was was trying to get a baby to keep her hand still while I traced it! My kids and I all participated in making it and I did not have to buy a thing!
Materials:
Cardstock (various colors)
Glue stick, scissors, fin point markers
Picture frame
My kids chose what color cardstock they wanted to use for their hand cut out. Then I traced all of their hands including my own. Then I cut them all out and made sure there were not marks from the marker where I traced. Then I cut out the size of what the inside of the picture frame is so that this piece would be what we would glue to.
I started with my hand on the bottom (yellow) then with my 5 kids hand cut outs oldest on the bottom and the baby on the top gluing them on top of each other, staggering them so that the one below it was not fully covered.
The with a fine point marker the kids that can write their names wrote them on their hands, I wrote the 2 little ones on their hands. Then the 3 oldest took part in writing a sweet message on the baby’s hand cut out — we (heart) you. At the top I wrote Happy Father’s Day 2014
Then added it inside the picture frame. In our homeschool group we have a freebie table and last year someone put out 2 white picture frames by Ikea still in the package, I snagged them. Glad I did! I added the hand cut out craft inside the picture frame! My kids cannot wait to give it to him Sunday, hopefully he does not see this post before then!
What about your kids, are they making their dad a Father’s Day gift? If not this one is super easy to do!
Do you have an educational post? Could be homeschool related or not (no giveaways please). Crafts, recipes, summer fun, etc. are welcomed!

I think homemade cards and gifts are the best, especially when it turns into a keepsake! Wish I had more from when my kids were little!

We are definitely making this this year. So cute and so easy and so fast (a necessity when one didn’t have time to do anything else because the recipient was on vacation all week and I didn’t think ahead to make something earlier).
Thanks for sharing.
This is a super cute and easy craft. LOVE IT!
