A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom (The Moors). One day a young boy enters the Moors and Maleficent forms a friendship and a love for this boy until he gets caught up in the evils of the world. An invading army threatens the peaceful land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal-an act by the once young boy who once entered The Moors which begins to turn her pure heart to stone.
Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom-and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.
Maleficent is definitely an awesome twist on the original Disney classic Sleeping Beauty. It had amazing graphics, costumes, acting, animation and storyline all rolled into one! Watching it in 3D made everything pop and seem so life like feeling like you were actually in the movie! Prior to seeing the screening I was convinced just by watching the movie trailer that Angelina Jolie would play an evil villain but not so. She was a villain and a hero all rolled into one, ultimately having a heart filled with love. Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) wins Maleficent’s heart and she is then crowned princesses of The Moors. This movie has everything a Disney movie should have; from a multitude of great action sequences to plot twists and turns, heroes and villains to a good sense of humor!
A Movie You Will Definitely Not Fall Asleep Watching! Magnificent is making its way to theatres this Friday, May 30th! Maleficent is a PG-13 film.

I have been dying to see this movie forever! I can not wait to see it.
I may actually go to see this movie-I have no kids but I love Disney films! I will just unobrusively pay for my ticket and sit in one of the back rows and enjoy!
This isn’t one my kids would be interested in and I have gone to see numerous Disney movies without them, too!

My oldest is excited to see this! One of her favorite movies was the original Sleeping Beauty when she was young…and she was always astoundingly frightened of Maleficient!

It really looks like something I would enjoy. Though I don’t see being able to see it until it comes out on DVD because it really isn’t for the girls, it appears.
Is is just me, or are there other movies out there recently that seem to be taking the villain and showing them as the “victims.” Or am I understanding it wrong.
