I remember having the candy necklace and bracelet’s has a child. With Easter quickly here I wanted to make something different using the candy I had. Jelly Bean Bracelets.
Materials:
Various colored jelly beans
String (I used ribbon 1/8 width)
Toothpicks
First I measure my child’s wrist so I knew how long to make the bracelet, I made it a bit longer so I had allowance for tying the knot as I slipped the bean through the ribbon. I poked holes in the jelly bean and then took the tip ohe toothpick with the ribbon on the tip of the rbon (somewhat using the toothpicks a needle) and then threading the ribbon through. I had to use 3 toothpicks because the sugar coating inside the jelly bean kept sticking to the toothpick and it got caked up so when this happened I used a fresh toothpick about every 4 jelly beans. I alternated the colors with a pattern and once I had the length I wanted I tie both pieces of the ribbon together into a knot.

My mom saw this and said โooh, thatโs a great craft we can do with the kids at Junior churchโ. I was NOT like that. I was thinking how each one of those little girls in their cute Sunday dress would be licking their wrists during the church service and their moms would be coming for me AFTER service. roflol. I love it, though.
How neat! My nephew would love this, he loves candy and would love having it around his wrist so he can eat it anywhere! Haha. ๐

Jelly beans are good to use for this, it almost looks like beads and not something you can ear. My kids love the candy necklaces, bracelets, and rings. They also make a snack necklace on movie night with any food item that can go on a string.
