I have a sweet tooth, I just cannot help it no matter how hard I try I just cannot stay away from sweets. One of my favorite sweets is soda. I love the sweetness and the fizz and if I allowed myself too I would only drink soda but I know that’s not a healthy choice. So I opt for healthier options.

One of those better options are the  DSPG Ten Products  (7UP, Sunkist, A&W, Canada Dry).

Dr. Pepper Snapple

I can taste the difference from regular sodas to diet sodas which are filled with artificial sweeteners and leave an after taste in your mouth however, the Ten Calorie DSPG products taste very similar to regular sodas and ONLY ten calories per serving! Leaving you satisfied without the after taste! One of my favorite soda’s is root beer because it doesn’t have any caffeine in it and I can drink it while breastfeeding my baby.

Not only are the Ten Calorie DSPG products refreshing but they are a wonderful ingredient to use in cooking or baking. I made a fun treat for my family to enjoy. It was super easy to make and yet it wasn’t ultra sugary. Only using 4 simple ingredients, many of which you probably already have in your home!  Plus there is NO baking involved!

Cutting down on the sweets and making healthier food options are just a few ways I am getting back to be a healthier me.  I know that my body will never be completely the same after having our fifth baby recently and now hitting the big 40 but I can at least make better choices such as:

Finding exercises I enjoy. I hate exercising, I do not have a gym membership and I can be unmotivated to exercise so I have to stay active and not realize it. Things like taking walks with my family. Not only are these walks a form of exercising but they are bonding times. My husband and I get to talk as one of use pulls our two little ones in the red wagon and the other children ridge their scooters.  Swimming is another favorite. Being on the swim team in high school I am educating on the different swimming techniques. My kids love going to our neighborhood pool so when we go as a family and my husband can look after our little ones I enjoy doing a nice small workout of swimming laps.

When dieting stick to it.   I think it’s Okay to stray once and awhile and dieting around holidays is extremely hard so maybe around those times indulge a bit but not over doing it and try to stay on task because in the end the reward is huge!

Do not be a slave to the scale.  My husband took my scale out of our bathroom and hid it on me because I was weighing myself daily and making myself crazy. I would get upset it I didn’t lose X amount of pounds every few days. Maybe limit a weigh in one time a week or every two weeks.

Menu planning. Making sure you have a menu planned out for each week as well as a nice stockpile of healthy recipes. This way you are not looking for something to throw together at the last-minute for dinner which may not be healthy like a processed frozen pizza!

So how do you stay fit? What are your tips?
