My kids are not your typical let’s sit down and homeschool kids. Like myself my kids are hands on learners so I try to make learning fun by using products in our schooling / learning from Educational Insights. Educational Insights offers learning products for babies all the way up to middle school aged children. I like products that not just teach children but products that can get them to be creative and use their imaginations.

One of those products is the Sea Squad Puppet-on-a-Stick. Designed for preschoolers and up however, I like to play with them too!

The Sea Squad includes:  Flipper the angler fish, Dipper the octopus, Chomper the shark, and Bob the clam are soft molded puppets on a stick that are brightly colored, wiggly googly eyes and accompanied by with hilarious expressions which inspires children to be creative!

Great for dramatic play which my kids enjoy putting on a puppet show for mom or pretending they are the sea creature by putting the puppet in front of their faces and moving the puppet stick up and down or the way or my favorite way is teaching. My 4 year old daughter pretended she was one of the sea creatures and did her alphabet while moving the characters mouth up and down. Another great way to use it is using it in story time with younger children, it will definitely get them to sit still and listen to the story!

I was wondering when I opened the box if my 2 year old son would be able to move the lever to the puppet up and down but he had no problems with it after showing him how it works. Plus not only is there is a child size lever to move the puppet’s mouth up and down but there is a knob at the bottom of the stick which when pulled up and down the puppet’s mouth moves too great for smaller hands!

What a perfect tool in the home to stimulate imagination play! The Sea Squad Puppet-on-a-Stick can be purchased directly from Educational Insights for $39.99.
