LEARNING WITH PAINT SWATCHES — LEARN & LINK (WITH LINKY)

Do you have an educational post that is about your child and you would like to share? It can be a craft, a lesson, sport etc. that your child learned this week. You do not have to be a homeschooler to LINK up below – happy to have you join us! Then come back every Friday and continue to share your learn and link post! Please do not link up educational reviews – thanks!
I consider myself a thrifty mom, I carry that over into our homeschooling. Especially with my little ones. I was at Walmart the other day and I grabbed some paint swatches to use in our Montessori lessons for my 2 and 4 year old. I have used paint swatches over the last 4 years in our schooling, the possibilities are endless on what you can do. This is what my 4 year old did this week.
I made my daughter a rainbow ABC paint swatch game. I cut the paint swatches down to 3 colors per swatch then with a Sharpie I wrote each letter in an individual color. So there were 3 letters per paint swatch. With a hole punch I punched a hole and used a binder ring to keep them all together so when she is not using them they do not get lost. So basically it’s a fun way for her to put her ABC’s in alphabetical order.
Then since the paint swatches have a white line in between the different shades I had her practice cutting out each color shade. With her cut out pieces she made an art collage (a flower).
Her finished masterpiece!
Here are my other posts where I have used paint swatches in our Montessori / Learning activities:
