My kids like to snack. Changing our home with more healthier alternatives, using less and less sugary foods.
After going to the store and picking up a bag of trail mix, which I had intended to purchase I checked the label first. I was astounded at the sugar content. So I decided to come up with my own healthy version!
Ingredients:
1 cup of Cheerios
1/2 cup of peanuts
1/2 cup of almonds
1 cup of granola
Add all these ingredients to a mixing bowl, give a quick toss with your hands so that everything is mixed together and viola, you have a heatlhier version of trail mix. No chocolates, sugary dried fruits. The granola and other items are a good contrast of sweet and salty but a healthier version!
