When I showed my kids the Excavation Station Dinosaurs – T-Rex Dig Site by 5 year old’s 1st words where AWESOME! Using a steel hammer and chisel, kids dig up replica, snap-together bones of a T-Rex, reassemble the pieces and paint the skeleton for display in their very own dinosaur museum. Paleontologist Field Guide, paints, and digging goggles included. Hours of fun and easy clean-up!

Dig, Build and Paint! – At the BSW Excavation Station! This week we are digging into fun and taking you on a dinosaur adventure!

Use the real steel tools to dig away at the sand and reveal hidden dinosaur bones, which can then be assembled to form a complete 11” long T.Rex skeleton (by easily snapping the pieces together). Hand paint your dinosaur with the included paints and brush to create that aged “fossil” look!

My Review:

As a homeschool mom this is one of the BEST learning hands on activities I have ever seen.It took about an hour to dig it out and then with putting it together (which does require adult help for littler children) and painting it is literally is hours of fun! It teaches so many different things: textures, dexterity, art (painting), the field guide presents facts about each dinosaur – which is great to go over as the children are excavating, teaches patience and much more! I also like how it comes with all the tools needed from start to finish including the chisel tools, paint, paint brushes, saftey googles and field guide. I do suggest that everyone participating in this activity wear saftey googles and either do it outside or a place you do not mind little sand/rock debris everywhere – other than that it’s worth what mess it makes!
