Jumping Bean is 36 months
Since my oldest has started his offical homeschooling year for Kindergarten I will be working off the same schedule for my 3 year old. I was going to start teaching him in ABC’s 1st but he started counting by himself and has shown an interest in learning his numbers. So I am starting off 0-9. (This is how Math U See teaches learning the 1st set of numbers & that is what I use for my kindgartner).
I made him a pocket chart match up, I cut index cards in 1/2, then I made 2 sets of each number 0-5, then I took smiley face stickers 0-5.
He matched the numbers
Then he matched the correct amount of smiley face cards to each number.
(BTW they have these pocket charts at Target in the $1.00 section right now)
Since my oldest is in a 2 year co-op for Mystery of History with our homeschool group, I thought it would be a good idea for Jumping Bean to follow along with us but more on a 3 year olds level. Using Hubbard Cupboard’s 3’s curriculum, we started with Creation.
matching cards to day & night for day 1 of Creation
We did other activities as well – sorry no pictures though
He did his monthly Bible Verse chart

Baby Cat is 15 months
She decided to get into this bucket, she was giggling!
My husband brought inside the kids basket ball hoop, he picked the baby up so she could make a basket too, making a basket with one hand, sucking her thumb in the other!
COME JOIN ME THIS MONDAY FOR MY IT’S COOL TO HOMESCHOOL BLOG HOP!
Are you homeschooling your child? Very simple, just link up your blog, that’s it! Hope to see you there!
Hi there! I’m visiting from the Blog Hop, but I guess I probably would have found you eventually through Tot School too (though I haven’t linked there in a while). I’ve got a 3 year old too, and I’m very interested in the number recognition you’re doing with your 3 year old! We’ve done ABCs, but I’d love to focus on numbers now. I’ve also read about the Hubbard’s Cupboard curriculum several places, and may use some of it this fall. You’ve got some great ideas!
I want to make the index cards for my son. 🙂
Following from SSS.
I need to look into Mother’s Hubbard for stuff to help Princess out more at her age range, rather than just random age.
Oh how sweet and how fun! My Kindergarten days are over… 🙁
Blessings,
Janet

New follower from a Sunday stroll http:angela-mommytimeout.blogspot.com
Hi! Stopping by from the Sunday Stroll blog hop and I am so happy to have found your blog. I love this post! My husband and I both firmly believe that homeschooling starts at birth – we have a son due in 4 weeks, and the other is starting high school. It’s so nice to have found your blog with homeschooling ideas for tots.
I am now following – my blog is:

Thanks for hopping with me! Your blog has been great help for my wanting to home school!
I love MUS!! It looks like he had a lot of fun.
I’m going to have to go look for a couple of pocket charts. I didn’t see them last time I was there.
We’re going to be using Hubbard’s Cupboard too for biblical teaching. She’s got some great stuff. I love the picture of your husband holding the baby up to make a basket. So sweet!
What a great week! Love the counting activity and I will certainly be going to Target to pick up a chart!
I have never heard of MUS. I will have to check it out. I do love Hubbard’s Cupboard though. Lots of great ideas and inspiration!
