Here are some of the things we will be doing this Thanksgiving:
I have gone through my Bible & wrote down some verses. My preschooler is memorizing the following verse:
1 Thessalonians 5:18
No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
To practice this verse I had my preschooler practice writting this verse.
Our Thanksgiving felt board (12 turkey cut outs – different colors) I got the idea from http://www.childlandcare.com/, she has a cute little rhyme story that goes with it tune of a Eric Carle book Brown Bear. This one is red turkey red turkey what do you see, etc. for each color than at the end I see all these turkys looking at me! Even the baby enjoyed it! I divided up 6 of each color to both my boys & as I said the color they put them on the board. My toddler enjoyed it because he has learned quite a few of his colors already!
This craft is from www.dtlk-holidays.com/thanksgiving/m-givethanks-turkey.htm
My preschooler told me everything he was thankful for: God, his brother, his sister, toys, our house, food, mama & papa then he wrote each one of them on the turkey feathers. For my toddler I asked him what he liked & I wrote them on the turkey feathers: God, superhero’s, sister, brother, mama, papa, etc.
