We recently did an art class at our local museum, the kids made sun catchers.
Materials needed:
contact paper
tissue paper squares
yarn
scissors
hole puncher
The kids were given a square of contact paper, with 1/2 the size still stuck to the backing. The 1/2 that wasn’t stuck the backing the kids placed colorful tissue paper squares on the contact paper.
Once the contact paper is full then unstick the backing and fold over.
The child can cut out any shape they want after both sticky sides are touching and the tissue paper is sandwiched in between. Then once shape is cut out, punch a hold in it and loop yarn through it for hanging or wearing!
Once they are hung in a window with the lighting shinning through them – they are really pretty!
Or you can make a necklace instead of a sun catcher!

We have never used contact paper before in our crafting. I definitely will have to pick some up and add to our art supply cabinet!
