Our Wooden Nativity Set & more!

My preschooler was given a wooden nativity set a few years back. So this morning I read to all 3 of my kids This is the Stable by Cynthia Cotten as I read the book to them both my boys were given turns to setting each piece up. (Yes, we homeschooled in our p.j.’s today)

One of our homeschooling groups had a Happy Birthday Jesus party a few weeks back & one of the crafts was to make Jesus a Happy Birthday card. My kids didn’t complete the craft at the party  & they got a little ruined so I cut out the front of the card & had my kids use the top piece to make new cards. This is going to be a tradition that we are starting this year. Every year my kids will make Jesus a card & it will stay underneath our Christmas tree. So every year will have the previous cards & the new one’s they make that year. It will be neat to see how different they are as they grow up.

Their cards (the front) Left – my preschooler, Right – my toddler
The inside of my preschooler’s card – I asked him what he was going to write – these are his exact words.
The card opens up – we traced his hands. Then he wanted to draw a picture of Jesus & him holding hands.
Then we did a sequence story game about the birth of Christ. I found the cards at:
