KUMON WORKBOOKS REVIEW & GIVEAWAY!

KUMON WORKBOOKS AND LEARNING AIDS introduce basic learning skills to children aged 2 and up. Subjects covered include early learning and fine motor control skills; verbal skills; and math skills.
THE KUMON METHOD is what makes Kumon workbooks so unique and effective. This Method is a proven learning system developed to help each child reach his or her full potential. Concepts are introduced in a step-by-step manner that allows the child to master each in turn without getting frustrated. Before long, children gain confidence in their abilities and are motivated to learn on their own.

I received a wonderful opportunity from Kumon Books to review 2 of their workbooks.

The 1st workbook I reviewed with my 5 year old was My Book of Numbers 1-120

ISBN:978-4-7743-0704-6 Ages 4-6.
Each Workbook is 5 7/8 x 8 1/4 inches, paperback, 40 pages, full color, and retails at US $6.95 and Canada $7.95.
This book will help children learn how to read and write numbers confidently up to 120. By practicing numbers in numerical order, such as 9-10 and 99-100, children gradually grasp the concept of decimal position. Recognition of the decimal place is crucial for the later acquisition of addition skills.

My son really enjoyed using this book, it’s a great way to learn numbers without the child even realizing they are learning! I think that’s why my son likes it so much. As a homeschool mom I definitely would recommend this as a way to teach young child their numbers.

The 2nd book I reviewed with my son was My First Book of Drawing
ISBN: 978-1-934968-02-4  Ages 3-5
Each Workbook is 5 7/8 x 8 1/4 inches, paperback, 40 pages, full color, and retails at US$6.95 and Canada $7.95.
Developing strong motor control and pencil control skills is an important foundation for writing letters and numbers. My First Book of Drawing helps children refine these skills by bringing them through all the steps from drawing simple lines and shapes to creating pictures of objects they are familiar with, such as an apple or a cat.

My 5 year old really enjoyed using this book. It gives great techniques on how to draw simple objects. A step by step then on the next page you draw it by yourself. My son chose to draw cherries  (I just realized that’s my blog theme!) He was proud of himself and it was very rewarding for him to see his final masterpiece! This is a perfect way for a child to learn how to draw and express themself!
