The Groovy Letter Book is The First Wave’s first book in a series of early reading books, focusing on letters, their phonetic sounds for reading, and letter parts for writing. Reading is introduced by showing the letters and their phonetic sounds, the building blocks for blending letters to form words. In this book, letters are associated with pictures that look like them. This makes the letter fun and easy to remember.

my husband and i have worked with my son daily to learn his ABC’s: we have flashcards, books, a leap frog fridge toy that i really love and a tv show we let him watch sometimes called ‘Super Why’. it is on the PBS station and really focuses on the alphabet. he turned 2 last week and he’s known all of his alphabet, lower and upper case, and most sounds for a month or more!

We read a lot and do a lot of Letter themed weeks where he colors letter pages and talk about all the words that start with the letter. We use letter puzzles and the leapfrog letter tracer too.

With my now 6.5 year old i taught her with good ole’ old fashion flash cards! Now with my 2.5 year old i started teaching him when he was a little over a year… we’d be on car rides and even at home, and i would take my itouch out — i had a few apps on it with ABC’s 123’s and all kinds of sounds!!! He is now way ahead of the game, its pretty amazing!!!!

Books have definitely helped me with teaching my little man his ABC’s..
Flash cards have also been a huge help with teaching my little man ABCs..he loves learning with them. He would just LOVE this book!

My daughter is in middle school now. When she was 3 I would make up a bag with items that began with the letter we were focusing on. For ex.- S (sock, shoe, snake and so on).
