My eight year old son made a special Easter gift for my husband and I in his weekly Bible class. His class has been working on these projects for many weeks. It is one of my favorite pieces he has made and it’s not just because his precious little hands made it but because of his heart felt love that went into it, most of all what it stands for – the real meaning of Easter.
Materials:
Magazines or newspapers
Un-sharpened pencil
First paint the background setting and allow it to dry. My son chose to do a blue sky Have the kids choose what magazine pages they want to use. Trim off any frayed edges of the pages and then use the pencil and wrap the magazine paper on the pencil and roll it so that it is a tube and secure with glue. Allow the magazine tubes to dry and then glue onto the canvas. In my son’s case he did the three crosses and clouds using the magazine tubes.
This is a piece that will hang on our wall all year long. I love his creativity! What cross crafts have your kids made lately? Do you display them all year long?

What a great craft idea. I think our kids would really like this and I love how it works with fine motor skills practice.
What a great way to recycle and make an Easter craft 🙂 x
Now this is a cool kids craft.
I love that your son has all three of the crosses, such a visual reminder that we have a choice to follow him and if we follow him it will make such a huge change in our lives!
This craft is adorable! I really want to make a Cross themed craft with the kids, I like that you did the 3.
This is a great craft incorporating a larger meaning. Moms can save this or their babies when they are older as a keepsake

That’s such a cool craft. You’re right, the most precious gifts from our kids are the ones they make themselves. Love this.
I like to repurpose old magazines when I can. That turned out great and is a great option for doing that.
