Crinkle Art Painting Craft (Learn & Link With Linky)

My kids and I tried something different this week — Crinkle Painting

Materials:

Paper (I used drawing paper)

Pencils, crayons

Dark paint

Water

First have the kids draw an image on the paper preferably using the whole page. Then color hard (trying not to break the crayons).  Then crumble to the paper in a wad then smooth out with your hands and then repeat the same process of crumbling. Next use a dark acrylic or tempera paint and paint over the while paper and then CAREFULLY put in the sink turn the water on. Hold the paper in one hand and in the other GENTLY rinse the paint off the paper. BE VERY CAREFUL because the paper gets soggy and the 1st piece my son did got so soggy that it ripped up in pieces and fell apart and he cried (I felt so bad), The best thing is if your sink has a pull our spray hose use this instead and allow the water to gently rinse the paint off.  Finally allow it to dry flat and you will see all the paint in the the crinkle pieces on the paper.
